The 7" inch discography.

Mickey Jupp has played in several bands and collaborations, but he has never ever released any 7" EP.
I'm trying my best to show every 7" single release there are, but, no matter how hard I try,
there seem to be one or more releases that I don't have the knowledge of.

If you have any additional information, Please, feel free to send all your updates to:
lars so I can continue to update the Mickey Jupp Discography with relevant information.

If you move your mouse over the pictures, information about the record will be shown.

"The Orioles"

This was the second band Mickey was playing in, and probably the start of the Mickey Jupp "era" 1963 - 1964.

Remarks on vinyl, on A-side "A Spiky Spectacular" and on B-side "E.G. Don't Touch that Dial"

The following anecdote about the song "My Typewriter" is given by John Bobin, Bass Guitar player in Legend and on this record.
"My Typewriter had an usual spoken intro which came about when Mickey was aping Bobby Boris Pickett and his song The Monster Mash.
We suggested that he should keep the intro like that and it seemed to work! Of course the real inspiration was Boris Karloff".

The following text has been taken from Record Collector.
Mickey Jupp hated the song "Natures Radio", a track off his LP, "Mickey Jupp's Legend" which had originally appeared on the Arista label.
and he loathed the arrangement and the production too. Nevertheless 50O copies of it (catalogue number UPP 1) were pressed up for sending out to DJ's,
who were supposed to believe it was a single rather than just a taster for the album. There was no picture sleeve and if you come across one of these obscure promos
prepare to pay about £10 for it. (This is a value from Record Collector #8 March 1980)

Record Collector's first Stiff discography March and April 1980 states that this single is a Promo even if it's not marked as a promo.
However, there is a rumour saying that a series of 50 promo copies numbered 1 - 50 is released??? Any comments to that are welcome!

Notes:
Only For Life Promo has hand written label.

Label states on German issue A-side "Not On Any Of Those Famous Juppy-Albums...!" and on B-side "Also On No Juppy-Album...!"
Back Cover liner notes states on the German issue"From the Upcoming Album". That album must be "Oddities" since no other album
were released between the single and Oddities. I have never heard of any other album, planned and not released.
Both songs later included on the Oddities CD.

Liner notes from the CD states: "Only for Life" Mickey Jupp vocals, guitar, keyboards plus studio-musicians
and for "Animal Crackers" Mickey Jupp vocals, guitar, keyboards plus studio-musicians.
One of the Studio musicians was Gavin Sutherland who played Bass Guitar on at least one song.
These two tracks were already released as a single, never on any album.

UK and German release has the same front cover, but different back cover.
UK and France release has different front cover but the same back cover.
German and France release has different front and back cover.
One funny remark, Mickey's name is misspelled Micky Jupp on the UK release but not on the German or French.
This misspelling goes for his name as writer of the song as well.
