Georgia george pt 1

By Mickey Jupp
The stopped working on the railroad - they downed tools at the mill
They came up from the valley - they came down from the hill
Kinfolk in Atlanta said they'd be there if they could
Cos everybody loved to hear the local boy who played so good

He used to play his guitar to the people he knew
and everybody reckoned he was one of the few
Who could play his guitar and make it sound so good
that he should be making records out in Hollywood

New York - Chicago you ain't heard nothing til now
Little Georgie from Georgia is really gonna show you how

One day he packed his bag and slung his guitar on his back
and made his way down to the railroad track
He bought himself a ticket on the 10.43
and said 'I'll send a picture postcard - mama- don't you cry for me'

New York - Chicago you ain't heard nothing til now
Little Georgie from Georgia is really gonna show you how

It may look like there are some verses missing but it was Part 1 - Part 2 never got written!!
